"Four years ago, I was honored and humbled to have been elected to serve as your Monroe County Legislator. I did so with the belief that our community needed a change of direction in order to avert a growing financial crisis and reverse a worrisome economic decline. Since then, I've been proud to lead the fight against irresponsible budgets that were riddled with politically motivated spending. I have worked hard to make our county government more open and accountable to you, the citizens and taxpayers. I have been hard at work, standing up for you, to make our county government more open, accessible and accountable to all citizens and taxpayers. We have difficult challenges ahead of us, but I 
still believe in a bright future for our County and I know that, working together, we can overcome those challenges."
